Teofilo Jim Bolger has the favourite for the 2000 Guineas in his yard and he is a deserved favourite at that. Unbeaten at 2yo over 5 starts, over various courses and ground conditions, this Son of Galileo out of a mare by Danehill is bred to go right up to the St. Ledger distance, so could well try to land multiple classics this year.
Too short priced to gamble on for the first classic, this one should be watched to see how he has fared over the winter. Even if he doesn't have the speed to beat Dutch Art over the mile, he may be better priced for the longer distances and could well be worth a punt later on in the summer.
He managed to out-battle Holy Roman Emporer, Aiden O'Brien's star colt in the Dewhurst Stakes on his last start, which is a good indication of the class involved.
