Prix De Ferrieres, 34000€, 3yo, Male

Good win for Not Just Swing (A.Fabre, S Pasquier) against the fancied Aga Khan horse Ashkazar (A. de Royer Dupre, C. Soumillon). The talk beforehand was all about how impressive Christophe Soummillon's mount has been on the gallops, but when put to the test, he got as far as up to the saddle of the winner but couldn't keep up the progress when Not Just Swing increased the pace in the last 150 metres.

The winner looks good for a listed or group 3 in early summer or late spring.

Prix De Croissy, 34000€, 3yo, Female

The Aga Khan got his revenge here with a win for Vadapolina (A.Fabre, C. Soumillon) over the much fancied "Rock of Gibraltar" daughter Terra Incognita (Y. de Nicolay, O.Peslier).

Both first and second will progress, but the most notable part of this race was a game 3rd for the debutant Red Ransom filly, Divergence, ridden by the latest superstar in-waiting to emerge from the French racing scene, Alxi. Badel.

Prix Noailles, 130000€, 3yo, Group 2

This one will be used as a great form guide in the future!!! Watch for future races and cross reference the form. The two proven group horses came through, with Soldier of Fortune (A.P.O'Brien, C. Soumillon) out-battling the above average Spirit One (P.Demercastel, D.Boeuf). This could well spell a return to France for the winner in the French Derby (Prix du Jockey Club) at Chantilly, a possibility mooted before the race by his trainer.

The much hyped Spycrawler (A.Fabre, O.Peslier), who had won his maiden in impressive style at St.Cloud in November last year, was a disappointment. We will need to wait to see if he needs more time or if he hasn't trained on.
